San Francisco is a city located in California : the second most densely populated city, the third tourist destination and the fourth largest city in terms of population in USA.
Founded in 1776, the city really took off during the gold rush.
Today, the city is known for it’s southern part which is occupied by the municipality of San José and Silicon Valley, the first pole of high US technologies that welcomes many world-renowned advanced technology companies like Apple, Tesla Motors, Hewlett Packard, Google, Intel or Facebook.
In the academic field, it hosts the prestigious Stanford University and University of California at Berkeley.
The city is famous for the Golden Gate Bridge, jail of Alcatraz, Fisherman’s Wharf, the Transamerica Pyramid, Coit Tower, Victorian houses, its cable cars and its crooked streets. High place of against-culture, city of tolerance and emancipation of minorities, San Francisco is also known for its Chinatown and its gay hipster neighborhoods. It represents a major cultural and economic center in the US and annually hosts several mondiale scale events but also buzzes with festivities animated by different communities locales.
